The New Year is Upon Us Again!
I am still in shock with how quickly this year has flown by, and how much I have changed this year. When 2012 started I was 231 pounds, eating whatever I wanted, never exercising, very insecure, and really down on myself. When I went for my annual visit in January my doctor told me I was obese. I started 2012 with the resolution to lose weight. Just a general thought, lose weight, but no real goals or anything. Just one of those many resolutions that millions of people make each year but never stick to.
This time I stuck to it..well eventually!
The first six months or so I just kind of played with my diet changes, and did not exercise at all.
And then in June, while on vacation I saw this picture of myself. Up until then I had completely avoided having my picture taken.
I finally decided to take my resolution serious. I guess that makes it a not so New Year Resolution..but hey..whatever.
As of now I eat clean, exercise daily, and love myself completely. Even the parts that I don't like I love!
This is me as of December 2012!

In this picture I was 221 pounds, so in six months I lost 10 pounds.
This picture, and the doctor telling me I was obese, was my defining moment, that moment when you look at yourself and realize things have to change! I knew that if I wanted to enjoy my Scarlett for as long as possible I needed to get healthy. I knew that if I wanted to enjoy the rest of my life without health complications, I needed to get healthy.
My life took a dramatic turn in June.
I finally decided to take my resolution serious. I guess that makes it a not so New Year Resolution..but hey..whatever.

I am 38 pounds lighter in this picture. That was done in 6 months. Total loss of 48 pounds!
Here is a side by side of the two...
Now to the whole point in this horribly schematic set up...stick to your goals.
It doesn't have to be a New Year's Resolution, make it a December 29, 2012 resolution. Start tomorrow. Shoot...Start right now. But whenever you start, keep at it. It has been one of the most demanding, aggravating, challenging, emotionally draining, physically enabling years in my life...but dang has it been worth it!
I still have a ways to go, and I update my goals everyday. But I am so freaking proud of how far I have come! I have made a New Years Resolution. Want to know what that is?
My Resolution for 2013 is....
Be the Best Me I Can Be!
Wow - what an incredible 2012! That second half it looked like something really clicked for you. I love our 2013 resolution.
